„Mihai Eminescu” National Theater in Chisinau
The „Mihai Eminescu” National Theater in Chisinau begins its history on October 10, 1921, when the first stable theater of Romanian expression in Bessarabia was established at the initiative of a group of leaders of the local public life at the time led by Sergiu T. Niță, minister of Bessarabia in the Romanian government, Ștefan Ciobanu, member of the Romanian Academy, writers: Nicolae N. Beldiceanu, Nicolae Beldiman, Leon Donici and director Gheorghe Mitu Dumitriu.
The name of Mihai Eminescu has been conferred to it since 1988, while since July 1994, following a creative competition, it has been officialized as a National Theatre. In 1994, the institution becomes the „Mihai Eminescu” National Theatre, a title that honors, but also obliges. A new period began when the theater crew was invigorated with young acting forces, former graduates of prestigious theater schools in Moscow, Tbilisi, Iași, Chisinau.
Village Museum
Located at the entrance to Chisinau, near the City Gates, the Village Museum can be considered an island of revelation and tranquility. It is the perfect place for meditation, a place where you are surprised by the fantastic landscape with a fairytale atmosphere.
Constantin Stamati Museum House
In 1988, a memorial complex dedicated to Constantin Stamati was opened in Ocnița.
In the manor museum, the room of seven writers, an office and a room where the memory of C. Stamati’s descendants is commemorated have been recreated. The museum has 350 items including: furniture, books, photographs, newspapers and magazines.
Colinele de Aur
Colinele de Aur (Golden Hills) – rocks in section, represent a natural monument protected by the Academy of Sciences, with the name “Outcrop near Valeni village”. Therefore, the “Outcrop near Valeni village” is a natural monument of geological or paleontological type in Cahul district, Republic of Moldova. It is located 0.5 kilometers south of the village of Văleni and has an area of three hectares.
“Magic” Sphere
In the Ungheni district there is an unusual ball with a diameter of about 18 meters. At the moment, it is not used in any way, but it is assumed that during the USSR it was designed to have space tracking equipment integrated inside it.
“Capul de Pod Şerpeni” Memorial Complex
The “Capul de pod Şerpeni” (Serpeni bridgehead) memorial complex was erected on the right bank of the Nistru, approximately 40 km east of Chisinau, in memory of the Soviet soldiers who fell during the 1944 Iasi-Chisinau military operation.
Bechir rock hermitage
The ravine of Bechir or “Bechirov Iar” is a natural monument of geological or paleontological type in Soroca district. In the steep rocks of that valley is the Bechir rock hermitage, considered the oldest to date, probably dating from the 6th-8th century
Lower Prut river area
The paradise of birds, fish and plants was created with the aim of protecting the flora and fauna of Lake Beleu, as well as providing favorable conditions for the propagation of rare and endangered plants
Dubăsari Lake
Lake Dubăsari is one of the largest lakes in Moldova. It is located in the center of the country. The lake is a reservoir, artificially created in 1954 by the Soviet authorities on the middle course of the Nistru river, for the purposes of obtaining electricity through the homonymous hydropower plant.
“Codrii” Nature Reserve
The “Codrii” (Romanian for “woods”) is a forest massif located in the hilly center of the Republic of Moldova. Two hundred and twenty-five species of vertebrates and 1 178 species of invertebrates have been recorded in three functional areas of the reserve.
Valea Morilor Park
A unique park. This place is also stunning because of the sunsets that reflect both on the hill and in the fabulous lake located in the center of the park.
Church of St. Great Martyr Pantelimon
The Saint Pantelimon Church (historically also called the Sinadino Church, the Greek Church) is a place of worship and an architectural monument of national importance, entered in the Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments in the municipality of Chisinau. It was built in 1891, in the spirit of historical stylizations, based on the Greek medieval architecture according to architect Alessandro Bernardazzi.
Alexander Pushkin House Museum
The building is the one where the famous Russian poet Aleksandr Pushkin lived for two months, after arriving in the capital of tsarist Bessarabia.
Organ Hall
It is an architectural monument and concert hall. The building imposes itself through monumental forms, executed predominantly in classical style, combined with some elements of romantic art. The dome and the sculptural groups confer artistic expressiveness to the building.
Water Tower
An architecture and art monument of national importance, entered in the Register of Historical and Cultural Monuments of the Chisinau Municipality. The building was built at the end of the 19th century on the highest point of the city at the time, based on a project drawn up by Alexandru Bernardazzi.
Râșcani Park
Râșcani Park is located in the northeastern part of Chisinau. The surface of the park is 32 hectares. It was landscaped in 1970 on the basis of a natural green massif. Another decoration of the park is a Memorial Complex opened in Chisinau on May 20, 2007 honoring the memory of soldiers who fell in the Afghan war.
“Ștefan cel Mare” Public Garden
“Ștefan cel Mare si Sfânt” Public Garden is the oldest park in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. It was designed and furnished in a classical manner.

Trinca and Fetesti Gorges
Hills, cliffs and gorges. The picturesque Draghiste river flows here, it also has a bridge, steep and gravelly places and quays, the Edineț district being particularly rich in them. The gorge near the village of Trinca is truly unique.

It was to become a military fortress that would bring Europe to its knees, but after the collapse of the USSR it was abandoned like other military objects designed by the Soviets.
Château Purcari
Château Purcari is one of the most valuable and renowned wineries of Eastern Europe.
The château is recognized worldwide for its super-premium class wines, which have, over the centuries, collected more than 200 awards at the most prestigious international competitions – Decanter, Challenge International du Vin, Concours Mondial de Bruxelles, International Wine and Spirit Competition, but also the legendary appreciation at the royal court of Great Britain.
MIMI Castle
Castel Mimi is a winery with a centuries-old history. It was founded in 1893, by one of the most prolific winemakers of the 20th century – Constantin Mimi. The construction of the mansion, initiated by order of Bessarabian politician Constantin Mimi, was finished in 1900, its architectural style having been inspired by the French tradition of the time.
Emil Racoviță Cave
The 13th longest cave in Europe and 26th in the world. It has about 20 lakes inside. It also holds a large complex of sculptures with various histories behind them.
The Dendrological Park in the village of Țaul
One of the largest such Parks by area and among the richest in exotic tree and shrub species; as well as one of the most beautiful landscape parks in Moldova. The park is conventionally divided into the upper part, where the village residence of boyar Pommer’s manor is located, but also a whole network, dense with alleys with various floral compositions and the lower part, which is more reminiscent of the forest, made up of various groups of trees, characteristic for various geographical areas.
Toltres of the Prut river
The Toltres of the Prut (or the Rocks on the Prut river), nicknamed “the land of islands and disappeared seas”, are a chain of calcareous formations, spreading over some 200 km along the Middle Prut river, near Criva, in the area of the country’s northern border and continuing on to Cobani.
Cricova cellars
The Cricova Winery is located 30 minutes away from Chisinau. The second largest underground winery in the world, it includes 120 kilometers of underground “streets”. The territory is carefully supervised by workers from Cricova, the cellars with limestone walls storing wines considered the pearls of Moldovan winemakers .
Manuc Bei Mannor
The Manuc Bey mannor (official – Manuc Bey historical-architectural complex) is located in the city of Hîncești in the central-western part of the Republic of Moldova; and includes the following buildings: Manuc’s Palace, Overseer’s House, the Building of the Countess, the Hunting Castle, the Watch Tower, etc.
National Arts Museum
A museum located in the center of Chisinau, being the only institution of this profile in the Republic of Moldova. It was founded in 1939 by sculptor Alexandru Plămădeala and Auguste Baillayre – French painter, teacher at the “School of Belle Arts” in Chisinau, who also became the first director of the National Art Museum of Moldova. The museum’s heritage includes over 39,000 works, which reflect the development of fine arts from the XV-XXI centuries. In the museum there are permanent exhibitions of European, Russian and Oriental art.
Soroca Fortress
The Soroca Fortress is a 15th-century Moldavian wooden fortress, built by King Stefan cel Mare (Stephen the Great), facing the river ford over the Nistru, and rebuilt in stone by Petru Rareș, in the middle of the 16th century.
Historical sources mention the construction of a series of fortresses on the Nistru at the riverfords, made of wood or stone, the seat of which was taken by “pircalabs” (old Romanian word originating from the German “burgmeister”, meaning mayor) and great captains, among which the fortresses of Hotin, Soroca, Orhei, Tighina and Cetatea Albă.
